- VECTREX - DVE, by Keith Wilkins, is currently the only Vectrex emulator and it's only available for DOS. Although DVE supports most games and has sound, it requires a fairly speedy system to run well, meaning that 486 owners are out of luck. In addition, it has some compatibility problems with certain video cards and monitors. Nevertheless, the emulator has some neat features such as sound and the ability to use color overlays for games (just like the real thing). Keith also distributes the source code in hopes that DVE will be ported to other platforms so it is likely that Mac and Unix users won't be left out in the cold for long.
