Welcome to the manuals section! Here you can find text transcriptions of the instruction booklets that came with NES games. This section was one of the first on the Internet to deal with game manuals (after the Atari 2600 manuals on The History of Classic Games Homepage) and has grown from about 15 at the start to over three hundred manuals! When this NES manual project was first begun there was nothing you could do besides manually type in the text yourself. Nowadays, though, there are many good OCR (optical character recognition) programs you can use to have your computer do all the text readout for you, making manual entry a lot easier. As a result, if you have a manual to add to this site, please mail it to me as soon as possible. I try my best to collect the manuals released on other NES sites, but if you have one I don't, send it quick so work isn't needlessly duplicated. Thanks!
