I love this place. I got bit by the Atari bug at a friends place in 1980, by Christmas 1982 I had my own Atari 2600 (4 switch woodgrain model) fully loaded with 2 each of sticks & paddles, Combat & Asteroids. Within a week I was up to 5 games. Now I have over 60 games with a 2600 Jr. and a ton of controllers. I also have a Jaguar, Atari 800 & 130XE, and my daily driver, a hot rodded 4160STe. One of my oddities in my collection is a 2600 game INDY 500 I got in a surplus store about 5 years ago, except it was modified to use joysticks instead of paddles and it didn't really work right. I'd love to hear from anyone who frequents this site. Thinking about how to enter the code field after a 16 year break. Playing Space Invaders and Asteriod rocked. Redesigned the joystick and used the bread board for control about the time of Pole Position. The Atari software and hardware innovations were on the edge of the tech boundry for common consumers. Is it now? I need a system to machine an OS for communication with yet to be built main frames using physic and biological cycle rates. The units fastest rate would have to be fast enough to match the main frames slower input, just make it super fast within reliable limits - the 1980's Amega crashed too often for our video work. I'd like to have a system that's fast enoung to "speak" in the lower rhelm of the langauge of these new main frames going commercial from IBM - within broadband. Aside from the typical ports, an attachable specialty port would be nice, with a variety pack of plug-in jacks, for managing home made hardware projects for both strip wire (hardwired robots with multiple movements, audio/visual) and microprocessor input/output (robots using microprocessor with multiple movements, audio/visual, and an array of data sensors). Maybe multiple ports on this device for multiple robots to perhaps "box", not that it's commercially viable. I want to help evolve new graphic boundries, computational projects, and play with hardware. If possible, I want to do it on Atari. This why I'm here at this site, to find information on Atari and maybe leave a foot print in the ever change sands, ashore the sea of technology.
