  • My Favorite Games: roadblasters

  • My Favorite System: lynx
  • What I Think of the Content: cool
  • Comments:
Many people have commented that the RF switches(tv box) available at Radio shack, and necesssary for the 2600, do not work. the problem is not the switch, its the tv. modern "electronic tuning" televisions cannot "lock" on to the weak RF signal from the 2600. the best remedy is to manually set the tv to cable tuning or connect to a vcr.the problem could aso be a dead 2600.

*Long live Atari (well, at least in memory!)--- From Richard Garrison

  • My Favorite Games: Cybermorph, Mario Kart, Tempest 2000
  • How I Found your Site: Blind luck!
  • My Favorite System: Jaguar
  • What I Think of the Content: This is by far the best Atari site
  • Comments:
It's so sad to see Atari die. Many think that it is strange that people are still talking about it, way after its death.
I want us to prove that Atari fans are the #1 fans in the world, so if you have money, support the new Jag projects!
I'd also say that let's not place the blame for the demise of Atari. Sure the Tramiel clan could have done a better job, but they did their best. Look at the competition- virtual boy, 32X, 3DO. They beat all of them. Amazing for a little company with no $$$.
    Thanks for reading!

Just an update: I currently have an honest-to-goodness 5200 SERVICE MANUAL. I've also prepared a "do it yourself" document for "converting" your 4-port 5200 units so they don't use the auto-switchbox to derive their power.
Leave me E-mail at the listed address if you're interested in my "document" and I'll send you a copy in ASCII format (ZIPped file, naturally!).
Long Live the "Old Iron" machines - their games have yet to be reproduced, or even "improved" upon!
