This page is about all the various books that came out in the NES craze. Starting with The Official Nintendo Player's Guide in 1988, tip books slammed into stores in drove, right up to the NES's popular demise circa 1992. Like the video game system itself, these books brought several publishers into the light, like Prima, that are even today churning out tip books like there's no tomorrow (although these days more of them are likely to be "official"). The usefulness of these books really varies widely. Some read like the author transcribed the instruction manual; a few really shine by offering great walkthroughs, complete with maps. Nintendo's full-color affairs are probably the best, but the Prima series deserves some respect, too. Choose a book/series:
