What Systems I Own And Collect For |
Own: 2600, 5200, 7800, Colecovision, Intellivision, Odyssey 2,
Vectrex, Aquarius, Fairchild, all the more modern cart systems, a
bunch of Pong-era stuff, some handhelds, a coin-op every now and
then, ADAM, Studio II.
Collect: All of the above, APF, VideoBrain (well, I have
carts for these 2, so I guess that means I collect for them), and
anything cheap that comes along.

Other Tidbits/Comments |
My take on collecting/a message to collectors:
Don't collect these games because of nostalgia for your youth, and
don't even think about collecting for money. Collect these games because
regardless of the form in which the audio or visual presentations are
made, it is the underlying game that matters, and what we call classic
games deliver just as good (if not better) underlying play experiences as
do more modern games. In the end we play these games for entertainment, so
play the games which deliver the most. There is nothing wrong with
playing the hottest new game and then playing a game of Pong on a
dedicated console - it is all about playing the game which provides the
most enjoyable playing experience. |
