SPRINGER by Tigervision You take control of a rabbit that -- aside from the hopping and jumping that rabbits are known for -- can do some wild and crazy things. You have the ability to leap on top of clouds and smack around dragons in the sky. In addition, you can collect all sorts of objects ranging from toothbrushes to teapots to coffee mugs. After you collect all of the objects, you then try to leap into the sun. Once you have reached the sun, your rabbit does a little dance and you can advance to the next level (there are three in all). In the first screen, you have to contend with scattered clouds, bonus objects and four eggs that can cause your little bunny discomfort. The eggs are initially harmless, but they grow into larger varieties that are deadly to the touch. The only way to rid yourself of the larger eggs is to kick them. If this isn't done fast enough, they turn into dragons. The dragons move back and forth on their clouds requiring more precise timing on the part of your kicking rabbit. Timing is critical here, because the dragons can throw you off the cloud you're on unless you kick them first. Like almost every other part of the game, this maneuver requires a great deal of patience and practice. Time is also important since you have a time limit (999 units). What causes your bunny the most trouble, however, are the clouds themselves. Some of the positions they assume require you to make nearly impossible leaps. The character animation and foreground graphics are nothing to write home about, but the background scenery is quite impressive. But unless you have a good touch and an even greater patience, you might want to stick with the other clones for the VCS.
