DONKEY KONG JR. by Coleco (later released by Atari) First off, only three of the game's four screens got brought over to the 2600 (the vines, the keys, and the sparks). The graphics are horrid, and Donkey Kong still looks like a chipmunk! The snapjaws look like staples, and the levels are just terrible (the keys level only has three keys instead of six). The play control is very frustrating because you have to be at exactly the right spot to jump or else you'll just fall short and die. The only good thing about Donkey Kong Jr. is that the music themes are very true to the arcade version. However you play games to play games, not listen to the music. This is one baby ape that should have stayed in its crib. Play this on on the NES or ColecoVision. As usual, Coleco didn't put much effort into the 2600 and Intellivision version, but an excellent port on its own system. Granted, the ColecoVision is the more powerful of the three, but something isn't right here!
