ATARI SUPER PONG -

Atari Super Pong

Following on the footsteps of Atari's Home Pong came a slew of imitators trying to cash-in on the video tennis phenomenon, both in the arcades and in the home (it must be noted, however, that the Magnavox Odyssey beat Pong to market by three years and contained a similar version of tennis). Atari itself also released a slew of follow-up machines which closely stuck to the formula that made Pong such a success.

Super Pong was the immediate successor. It wasn't anything more than a variant of Pong with four different variations thrown-in for good measure. While not quite the big seller that its predecessor was, it still managed to fill-up Atari's bank vault quite nicely.
