This winter, BattleSphere is set to blast off and take us
where no Jaguar game has gone before. And by all accounts, it
will certainly be worth the 3-year wait! All the Jaguar fans
out there will finally get to see what the Jaguar is capable
of when dedicated designers and programmers push the Cat to the
limit. Get ready for the ride of your life!
The game will be networkable with up to 8 Jaguars when used
in conjunction with ICD's Catbox peripheral. This feature alone
would make BattleSphere a contest with terrific replay value.
But the one player mode promises to combine some of the best
features of past space combat greats such as Star Raiders, X-Wing
and Tie Fighter while adding a healthy dose of creative game
design from the dedicated and capable group at 4Play.
And unlike most of the Jaguar games that have preceeded it,
all indications point to BattleSphere being cutting edge in both
playability AND in the audio/visual department. Despite lavishing
the screen with a liberal dose of textures and gourad-shaded
polygons, the game is said to run at a creamy smooth 30 frames per
second.
When all is said and done, this is a game we want to play yesterday.
